i had finished my shift on the ramp and was waiting for the transporter, if i recall, when i was told that PF was going to do a show in the Canadian Pacific hangar, and aircrew and personnel participating in the CNE airshow were invited and given folding chairs in the hangar, while the ramp rats and other airport people had to gladly settle for space at the edge of the hangar entrance. so off i went! there were several commandeered ramp vehicles of all sorts littered outside that hangar; i came in a stolen grooming truck with a few others and we sat all over it. and more than one of us pulled out a spliff :) i think one or two guys even stole belt loaders of all things and made it over.
the show was interrupted by a passing turboprop, the type of which eludes me now.
the lasers worked great on the hangar roof. i happened to go to the 2nd NA tour stop in toronto the next may at CNE stadium, and the light show was simply unimpressive compared to inside the hangar the previous september.

I was very lucky I got to see this. My Dad was a supervisor at the airport and was able to bring me. Unbelievable. I got to meet them and listen.

Man, thank you very much for sharing this with us, I really love Pink Floyd, and I wish to watch everything possible related to this tour.

I was a lowly roadie for this show, and loved it!...!Transported 3000 folding chairs from Montreal's big O, to YYZ"s CNN.. Sadly I was soo exhausted, there was absolutely no way I was going to watch the concert, so we missed out besides listening to them from the parking lot by our Rig!! We slept in the RIG that night knowing the "light show" Was INCREDIBLE!

Is Rick singing backing vocals on Echoes? I have suspected that they dropped it from the setlist because he was not comfortable singing it. When Gilmour brought it back for the On An Island Tour, he and Rick has spotlights on them during the vocal parts but they sang the melody in unison. Jon Carin actually sang the harmony in the background.
